In recent years, the integration of robotic arms into various types of robots has significantly expanded their capabilities, enabling them to perform tasks such as picking up objects, cleaning, and assisting in household chores. 

Robot learns to clean by demonstration

Researchers at TU Wien have created a method that allows robots to learn tasks through human imitation. This process gathers data from a sponge equipped with force sensors and tracking markers, which is then used to train a neural network.

LG pushes into the market

LG is ramping up its presence in the professional cleaning robot market with the launch of the LG Vortex Vacuum Robot—a compact, high-performance microbot designed for long-lasting operation.

Amazon’s flying security camera

According to Ring, the Always Home Cam is an autonomous indoor security drone designed to provide real-time surveillance while seamlessly integrating with the Ring ecosystem.

Positec Group secures $250M

According to The Robot Report, Positec Group, a global leader in power tools and robotic lawn care, has secured a $250 million investment to accelerate the development of its autonomous mowers.

ISS tests window-cleaning robots

The FM company ISS is now demonstrating a pragmatic indoor approach. However, the bottom line is that the technology must still be sophisticated enough to produce cleaning results that match those of a professional glass cleaner.

Something to laugh about

This San Jose restaurant also discovered that service robots are becoming increasingly popular. The security camera footage shows a man making a comedic and not necessarily expert attempt to steal a robot.
