China Clean Expo 2026: Hardware Dominance Meets Global Ambition
The China Clean Expo 2026, held from March 31 to April 3 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, once again confirmed a clear trend: the market for cleaning robotics continues to be driven primarily by hardware innovation — but with an increasingly strong push toward international expansion.

Established Leaders Reinforce Their Position
The leading players — Gausium, Pudu, and Keenon — maintained a strong presence, showcasing incremental but focused advancements in their product portfolios. Across all three, a common theme emerged: continued investment in AI capabilities and sensor technology embedded directly into the machines.
- Gausium introduced new AI-enabled systems, including larger-scale sweeping robots such as MARVEL and MIRA. The compact Phantas platform received a smaller functional update with the addition of a tray module, signaling continued refinement rather than reinvention.
- Pudu Robotics continued to emphasize its AI-driven MT1 platform, reinforcing its positioning in autonomous cleaning with intelligent navigation.
- Keenon presented its C-series lineup (C20, C30, C40, C55), though notably absent was its recently announced lawn mowing robot — suggesting either a shift in focus or limited readiness for broader showcasing.
- BIB Robotics entered the spotlight with the introduction of the J36, adding further competition in the mid-sized autonomous cleaning segment.
A Notable First: Autonomous Carpet Steam Cleaning
One of the most striking innovations at the event came from Kokobot with the S76 Plus — an autonomous carpet steam cleaning robot. This system stands out as potentially the first of its kind in the market. While its real-world adoption remains to be seen, it highlights a broader trend: manufacturers are beginning to target more specialized cleaning applications beyond standard vacuuming and scrubbing.
Despite Kokobot’s consistent presence at international trade shows over the past three years, the company still appears to have limited traction in global distributor networks — an indication that visibility does not yet translate into market penetration.

Strong Domestic Segments: Outdoor Cleaning

Another observation from both the expo and the wider Chinese market is the continued strength of outdoor road-sweeping robots. These systems are widely deployed across China but remain relatively rare in international markets, suggesting untapped export potential — or differing regulatory and operational barriers abroad.
The Rise of Internationally-Oriented Chinese Manufacturers
A significant shift compared to previous years is the growing number of manufacturers preparing for international expansion.

Several companies that were previously focused on the domestic Chinese market are now positioning themselves globally:
- Agibot is moving toward international markets, although its latest compact mopping units (based on the CVTE C3 platform) are currently still China-only.
- Wimsha introduced updated models (T2 and T5), building on earlier generations already seen in prior expos.
- New entrants such as SiaSun Robotics (QD450 / QD750), Zitosbot, StoneBoy, Seneo, and EZVIZ (expanding from household robotics into commercial cleaning with the BS1) demonstrated clear ambitions to enter Europe and other global markets.
Notably, several exhibitors explicitly referenced existing or planned presence in Russia and Europe, underlining a strategic shift toward export-driven growth.
Fewer Humanoids, More Focus
In contrast to previous editions, the 2026 expo featured fewer humanoid or experimental robotic concepts. Instead, manufacturers concentrated on practical, deployable systems — suggesting a maturation of the market and a stronger focus on commercial viability.
